This leadership approach will challenge your current paradigm of a “good” and effective leader in today’s complex environment. You will learn the value of “starting with self” which includes self-care, self-compassion, self-awareness, and mindfulness. As you learn to stand up for your own well-being, you can then healthily emanate energy outward to others. You will become familiar with the three primary dimensions of a Human-Centered Leader: the Awakener, the Connector, and the Upholder and the impact these dimensions have on culture in the workplace. We’ll also discuss methods for developing the people who lead the people. You’ll likely recognize yourself in this theory. We invite you to join the movement and transform Human-Centered Leadership into a revolution in nursing leadership. EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES Describe the relationship of complexity science to the theory of Human-Centered Leadership in Healthcare.
